We all work hard at Opportunities For The Disabled to make our applicants feel welcome, and comfortable.
Acquiring special need(s) equipment is often a sensitive and complex issue; we at the OFTDF take this matter to heart.and we have created a service where there are people ready, and willing to attend to the individual needs and requirements of our clients.
In order to accomplish this, we take the time to understand the exact objectives and purpose of the applicants requests, so that we are better able to meet our client’s needs quickly, and efficiently.
It requires a dedicated relationship between the applicant and the organization and we always try the “direct action” approach to assist the applicant by accessing our online inventory. If we have the equipment, and it’s available we try to place it with the applicant after the grant application has been approved.
Once we begin, we are in constant contact with the client, understanding the special needs, situation, and objectives and reviewing our progress every step of the way. Once we have acquired and placed the equipment with the client, we will help the client to maintain it and be available to them for years to come.
Our methodology:
We apply an interactive process that keeps our client’s needs as our focus throughout the equipment acquisition, and placement process. Depending on the individuals needs and the costs, the applicant could receive their equipment within two weeks!
Initial Assessment:
We review the clients needs, purpose, and total costs. We gather as much information about the client as we can. We initiate the grant review process and review of the grant submitted. We then identify the primary objectives, purpose, and opportunities for the client, as well as possible networking opportunities with sister-like organizations in order to assist the client in acquiring their special needs.
Placement of requested and approved equipment:
Once our grant review team reviews the application and all is approved and the funding is in place, we will acquire the equipment for the client. We then give the said equipment to the client(s) on a permanent for loan basis.
We stipulate that if the client no longer needs the equipment that it be given back to the foundation. The Client(s) may not sell or transfer it without the written consent of the organization.
Maintenance:
The Opportunities For The Disabled Foundation will maintain the equipment in order for it to stay functional and current. Please contact us for more information regarding our services
